Project Details

The work broadly includes online replacement of pipeline section across the Banas River and adjacent area. The pipeline section is a part of the 16’’ Jamnagar Loni LPG Pipeline laid by GAIL. Banas River and adjacent area was crossed by open cut method. However the pipeline section across Banas River and adjacent area was exposed on account of increased scouring due to flood in Aug-2017, at north Gujarat area i.e. Palanpur area of Banaskanth district of Gujrat. To protect the pipeline from external impact, the pipeline was protected by Gabion structure to avoid direct impact on pipeline. GAIL now intends to replace this exposed section of pipeline by online replacement i.e. without disturbing of LPG flow of pipeline. This replacement work shall be carried out without affecting the existing LPG flow. To execute the project, GAIL intends to award the work in single package as detailed below:- Laying of pipeline across Banas River and adjacent area by HDD method, Hot Tap off and Double –Double Stoppling / plugging (AS PER GAIL SOP ) on existing pipeline and Hook-up with the new pipeline section Testing and Recommissioning of pipeline section Evacuation of LPG from the redundant section of existing pipeline after completion of Hot Tapping
